Born and raised in Rwanda, where people did not consider dance an “Art" but a way of life, I started dancing professionally in 2007. With community support, I created the first dance festival in Rwanda in 2011 and the first dance studio in the country.

Taking part in the rebuilding effort of Rwanda after the genocide that marked MY childhood, I started a dance program for underprivileged kids, and this program is still running and supporting the kids who need it most. After moving to Vancouver in 2014, and being introduced to a new world of dance, I trained in Hip-hop, martial arts, and gymnastics. Facing the unsettling lack of diversity and African representation in Vancouver, I Started the first weekly African dance class with Afrobeats Dance Van in 2017. A dance company whose aim is the place to bring diversity to the dance community and the city.

A pioneer of African culture in Vancouver, educating the community about my beloved African continent's histories, cultures and dances.
