Surrey, B.C. – Yesterday, Surrey Canada Day drew over 75,000 attendees to Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre to celebrate the spirit our country. Presented by Prospera Credit Union, the free annual event featured Canadian headliners, The Reklaws, alongside Goldie Boutilier and Garret T. Willie.

Attendees enjoyed live music and entertainment across four stages, an Indigenous Village and marketplace, over 30 food trucks, amusement rides, and a fireworks finale.

“This year’s Surrey Canada Day was a great reminder of the strength, spirit and diversity that define our city,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “From performances by top Canadian musicians like The Reklaws to the cultural sharing provided in the Indigenous Village, the day was a vibrant showcase of Canadian unity and pride. Our sovereignty as a nation gives us the power to shape our future and Surrey is a shining
example of this spirit—full of life, rich in culture, and bursting with community pride. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating what makes Surrey and Canada truly great, and thank you to our sponsors, partners and performers who help bring this day to life year after year.”

Surrey Canada Day 2025 offered something for everyone. Highlights included DJs, dance battles, and sports in the Community Hub; free kids’ activities and entertainment in the Family Zone; over 30 food trucks throughout the site; and a beer garden. The Indigenous Village provided a space for attendees to learn and connect through cultural education, artisan vendors, and traditional food offerings like bannock and bison.

“Canada Day was a wonderful reminder of the strength and spirit of our local communities,” said Kirsten McElgunn, Chief Product and Strategy Officer at Prospera. “It was such a joy to join the City of Surrey and our neighbours to celebrate what it means to be proud Canadians. Our volunteers had a great time connecting with attendees, handing out thousands of popsicles and enjoying festivities that reflect the diversity and vibrancy of Canada and our communities. Prospera was proud to be part of this fantastic opportunity that unites us all.”

Surrey Canada Day continues to be the largest Canada Day celebration in western Canada, with free admission, diverse entertainment, and activities for all ages.
